What is SLV Wallfish

Although a stark contrast from when first introduced in the novel, the Wallfish symbolizes home and friendship. When Kira boarded the Wallfish for the first time, she thought the crew was a bunch of no-good thieves who engaged in illegal space activities. However, she came to realize how caring the crewmembers were and how hard they fought for her throughout the various battles. Additionally, this association became clearer when Gregorovich politely declined Kira's offer to give him a body, "A body would be nice, but I could always have a body. I couldn't always have this crew or these friends" (816).
