What do Jem and Scout see on Boo Radley's porch?

Scout 'sees' that she, until that moment, never saw Boo as a person and then her father's words come to her about never understanding another person until you've put yourself in their shoes. She begins to put two and two together and realizes that Boo has been her protector and benefactor all these years.
