Each of the poem's stanzas ends with with the same phrase: “know no such liberty” (4). The only deviation is the final line, where the speaker compares himself to the angels, who alone “enjoy such liberty” (32). This repetition provides a strong emphasis on the poem’s central theme of liberty found within oneself.
