The main setting of the novel is the Covey family home. Most of the important events in the novel take place here which is a reflection of how close Lara Jean is with her family as well as a reflection of her need to break free from family ties and start living her own life. The family home is a safe haven for Lara Jean but it also becomes a kind of prison because her feeling of comfort and safety within the home makes her afraid to venture out and try new things.
