What is the importance of the Cyrist book of prophecy in the novel, Timebound?

The Cyrist book of prophecy contains all of the future knowledge that Saul used to create his religion. Only a select chosen, those with the CHRONOS gene, are given a chance to look at the book. To them, it represents their superiority over everyone that isn’t chosen.
