Why does Davey find so much enjoyment during her trip to Santa Fe in the novel, Tiger Eyes?

During the trip to Santa Fe, Davey was finally given the opportunity to see various types of people interacting and go into quaint shops. She felt at home in Santa Fe because it reminded her of the city life she left at home in Atlantic City.
