The rainforest parking lot is significant because it symbolizes the environmental degradation that human economic development unleashes, as well as nature’s resilience. The old, decrepit cars suggest that the rainforest has been used as a junkyard; however, the fact that nature not only survives but thrives off the car's materials suggests that nature is able to adapt and to accommodate itself to human behavior.
