Three Men in a Boat, to Say Nothing of the Dog, is a great novel. Chapter nine sees the uninclined heroes of the book telling George that he needs to do some work. They throw him a towline and put him ashore pulling them along. Everyone has a particular story about someone that either didn't tow well, lost the line, or some other occurence having to do with a towline.
