Who finally sells the land on which the hunting camp once stood?

Time passes, and eventually Major de Spain decides to sell the woods to a group of loggers who intend to tear down all the trees. When Ike hears this news, he decides to set out into the woods for one last hunt. Major de Spain declines Ike's invitation to join him, but says Ike is welcome to the land as long as the trees are standing.
