This Other Eden
How does Eha respond when he learns his family will be forced to move from Apple Island in the novel, This Other Eden?
.
.
When Eha learns that they are being forced off of Apple Island, he sits in front of the house and studies it. Throughout this bought of mournful meditation, Eha drifts into memory. He recalls building the house with Zachary and reflects upon all of the things he and his family have experienced therein.
Unable to part with the house, Eha deconstructs the structure before they leave Apple Island. He then packs the pieces onto the family raft and takes it with them.
