What do Rose and Alice argue about on pages 226-230?

Rose wants her dad to come back so badly that she begins arguing with Alice. They argue about having a baby. Then Rose yells at her mom and wonders why she is even at the beach when she doesn't want to participate in any of the activities. Rose accuses her mother of wanting her own way and making everyone sad. Alice can't explain what she is going through, and Rose storms out of the cottage.
