What is suggested by the fact that the house repeats the date "three times for memory's sake"?

The house repeats things often. Partially this is a part of creating the sing-song, nursery-rhyme feeling of its speech. But here, it is explicitly pointed out that the repetition is to help the family remember things. It is as if all of this technological help is weakening their minds.
