What is Carlton's response to Miah when asked about being biracial?

When Jeremiah asks Carlton what it is like being the kid of a biracial couple, Carlton responds that he does not know any different but that his mother’s family out west is very stiff, and he does not really feel like he is a part of them. Carlton also notices when people stare at him and his parents, watching them and realizing they are a biracial family. He believes his sister moved to England to get away from the racism in the U.S.
