Why does the narrator abruptly end her narration in the first few pages?

The narrator’s husband has given her strict orders to not stimulate her mind through reading and writing. She is secretly keeping a journal anyway, which is the story The Yellow Wallpaper. When she hears her husband coming, she hides it to prevent him from knowing what she is doing.
