The narrator no longer trusting John suggests that the narrator has changed. In the beginning of the Story, she trusted John and believed that he had the best intentions for her. Now that she is completely delusional with her obsession of the wallpaper, the people that she used to trust and care about have become her enemies that she can no longer trust.
