After the Yellow House was torn down, Sarah visited the property and found two items in the ground: half of a yellow and blue fleur-de-lis plastic wall decoration and a bent silver spoon. Sarah kept these items and took them back to her home in Harlem where they sit on the windowsill. When she moved out of that place, she packed the two items in a box labeled "Fragile," demonstrating her attachment to them and her sense that they are both breakable and valuable. These two items represent all that is left of her childhood home in the physical sense.
