Katherine Howard was King Henry's fifth wife. He is said to happier with Katherine than he'd ever been in any of his marriages. It was soon discovered, however, that Katherine was not a virgin when they married, and that she'd pledged herself to another young man, a pledge that was followed by a consummation. Soon after this discovery, Katherine began a love affair with one of Henry VIII's courtiers, and although it is believed that this affair was not consummated.... Katherine was beheaded for the crime of treason based on her infidelity.
