Imre is a city in the Commonwealth. It is close to the University. Kvothe often goes to Imre to frequent bars, play his lute, hang out with his friends, and meet Denna. When Ambrose arranges for Kvothe’s criminal charges, Kvothe’s trial is in Imre because his allegations took place under the authority of the Commonwealth rather than on the University grounds.
