What is a possible interpretation of the title that would link it to the ideology put forward by Adiga?

The title is taken from the nickname that the character Balram is given when he demonstrates remarkable intelligence and reading skill. White tigers are extremely rare and Balram begins to feel that he is so special that he then begins to act in less than honest ways to build his commerical success. Ultimately he is rare in the sense that he rises above his original station in life, so perhaps that is why he could be considered a "white tiger."
