What causes the conflict to erupt when Balram is with the prostitute in "The Sixth Night"?

While Balram is in the room with the prostitute and beginning to become intimate with her, he discovers that her hair has dark roots and thus, she isn't truly a blonde. He erupts in anger and demands his money back from the proprietor, but is immediately beaten up and thrown to the curb.
