In the novel, The White Tiger, Adiga portrays India as a nest of corruption. From the corruption in village schools and hospitals to the police force, fraud is prevalent. New opportunties are accompanied by the necessity of money with which to pay (bribery) and entrepreneurship is a means by which one gained money and power. Adiga's picture of India is permeated by poverty, a lack of morals, and an absence of values.
