How did the Death Bivouac gets its name as noted in the nonfiction book, The White Spider: The Story of the North Face of the Eiger?

Sedlmayer and Mehringer were the first climbers to attempt the Eiger's North Face in 1935. They froze to death at the top of the Third Ice Field, in a location thereafter named the Death Bivouac.
