The White Princess
What is the importance of the red rose in the novel, The White Princess?
.
.
The red rose represents the Lancaster and Tudor families. It also signifies victory, death, and sacrifice. Unlike the white rose, the red rose is seen much more throughout the book after Henry takes the throne. When Lady Margaret tries to combine the two flowers, it is not a symbol of unity. Instead, it is a reminder of all the people Henry had to kill to maintain his throne.
