What is the setting in the opening pages of the novel, The War That Saved My Life?

The one-room flat in London is the opening setting for the novel. Ada has spent most of her life trapped by her Mum in this one room because she has a clubfoot. Ada leaves the apartment with her brother when she makes the decision to disobey her Mam and go with her brother to evacuate to the country.
