The Virtue of Selfishness
How is Nazi Germany portrayed in Rand's book, The Virtue of Selfishness?
.
.
Rand refers to Nazi Germany throughout The Virtue of Selfishness to demonstrate the results of societies based on political and economic systems that uphold the society over the individual. She explains that these socialist systems were adopted in Germany by vote rather than by force, like what happened in Russia; even so, the people's rights were heavily violated and denied. Nazi Germany is Rand's most extreme example of how societies that do not promote individuals' right and independent existence will only lead to the total destruction of their citizens and to the total destruction of the societies themselves.
