What is the theme in The Vile Village by Lemony Snicket?

Unity is at the heart of all the Lemony Snicket novels. Perhaps the strongest theme throughout the Series of Unfortunate Events is that of unity. No matter what horrific events are thrown at the Baudelaire children, they unite against the evil to overcome their obstacles. Throughout the novel, the children are very good about working together, highlighting each of their strengths to form an unbeatable team.
