There are several layers to the sense of structure at work in this collection. On one level, each dialogue is carefully constructed to lead the reader to a simpler understanding of a particular situation - moral ("Euthyphro," "Crito"), personal ("Apology"), philosophical ("Phaedo"), or some combination of all three. Then, three of the dialogues ("Euthyphro," "Crito," and "Phaedo") are structured along the lines of an intellectual journey from idea through question to revised idea.
