What is Annabeth’s Yankees Cap?

Annabeth’s hat actually represents two different things depending on the character that has it. For Percy, it simply serves as his remaining connection to Annabeth after she is taken. The sole reason that he carries it with him is because he wants to feel as though Annabeth is still with him, even when she’s imprisoned. For Annabeth though, it represents the connection that she wants to have with her family. To her, New York represents where she was raised by her mortal family, and the cap itself is a direct connection to her father’s love.
