The Jealousy Bar plays a large role as a setting in this novel. It is the bar where Elise meets her Tinder date before she is killed. It is also at this bar that Harry comes face to face with Valentin but lets him go because he believes he is negotiating for the life of Mehmet, the owner of the bar. After the murder case is solved with Valentin being killed and Smith arrested, Harry runs this bar. Harry had paid off a loan shark to whom Mehmet owed money in order to convince Mehmet to work as an undercover agent. After Mehmet was killed by Valentin, Harry had full ownership of the bar and decided to try his hand at running it instead of selling it.
