What is the importance of the Art Barn in the novel, The Talented Miss Farwell?

The Art Barn is located on the outskirts of Becky's Pierson property. The barn originally belonged to her father's business, and was used for storing farm equipment. After selling her Chicago apartment, Becky converts the barn into a space to display her art. She even has underground galleries installed for ultimate privacy.
