Why did Hinton sleep in a bathroom the first night he was free?

Hinton stayed at Lester and Sia's the first night he was free. They had the guest room ready for him. As Hinton lay in the soft bed with a pillow and sweet-smelling blankets, everything seemed strange. He started to feel anxious. He went into the bathroom, locked the door, and sat on the floor. His heart stopped pounding and his breathing slowed. He realized the bathroom was the same size as his cell. He stretched out on the floor with his head resting on the bath mat. He decided he would sleep in the bathroom because it felt like home.
