Hinton's court-appointed lawyer was Sheldon Perhacs. At Hinton's arraignment, Perhacs barely looked at Hinton. Hinton realized that Perhacs was not pleased to be defending him when Perhacs mumbled that he did not go to law school to do pro bono work.
