Importance of Writing

Writing represents catharsis and salvation. For Jaya, this connection is overt; she needs stories in order to make sense of life. Jaya’s blogging also allows her to confront her emotional burdens and trauma. Early on, she deletes a blog post about her insights into herself and her grandmother, symbolizing her lack of readiness to deal with the truth. When she finally publishes her blog post at the end of the book, her character arc is completed.
