Who is Rodg Kempsey from The Stars My Destination and what is their importance?

Rodg Kempsey served aboard the Vorga. He was imprisoned on the moon, and Foyle broke him out under the guise that Dr. Orel sent him. In order to overcome the sympathetic block, Foyle tortures Rodg to get the information he needs. Kempsey reveals that Captain Lindsey Joyce gave the orders. He later dies.
