Who is Helen Grace, Mom from The Field Guide and what is their importance?

Helen Grace is the mother of the three Grace children. She has just gone through a divorce or separation from her husband and moved to the countryside to her great-aunt's house. Mom attempts to give Jared the benefit of the doubt about the Boggart, but she becomes increasingly upset as pranks are run against Mallory and Simon, and Jared appears to be the only possible culprit.
