Who was Lazarous? Daniel?

Both of the above figures are mentioned in the Bible, thus, their use in The Song of Roland is as Biblical allusions. Lazarus was the brother of Mary and Martha.... Jesus raised him from the dead. Daniel is the man who was thrown into the lions' den and saved by the angels.
