Bailey is Lennon's older sister. Bailey is an actress who has always professed a desire to go to Julliard. Therefore, when Bailey was denied acceptance to Julliard, Lennon immediately discounted thoughts of going there herself for the clarinet. However, as Lennon learns more about her sister and comes to realize that Bailey was perfectly happy to settle in Clover for the rest of her life with Toby and their new baby, Lennon begins to see that although Bailey was the more outgoing of the two, that Lennon no longer has to hide in the background. Lennon vows to become the author of her own story and to do all the things she had been afraid to do before.
