Matt is proud of the cabin he has help build and looks forward to sharing it with his family. He reviews everything his father has taught him about life in the wilderness--how to be frugal with bullets, how to be mindful with the fireplace, and how to hunt. This mental review of things suggests his maturity; he is alone but does not resort to childish thoughts or activities.
