How does the author use foreshadowing in The Schwa Was Here?

"Are you looking for this?" I heard another voice say, I turned and I swear it was like he wasn't there. He was odd."

This bit of foreshadowing tells us that eventually...... the art of being unseen is the way in which the Schwa will finally be noticed.
