The search for love is one of the most common themes in literature. Every human being has basic needs, some are physical such as food and air, but there is also the need to be loved, validated and wanted just for being himself or herself. There are two obvious threads of the search for love in the Rosie Project: the Wife Project and the Father Project. Other themes include Struggle Against Societal Pressure, family and overcoming adversity.
