What is the main conflict in The Raft by John Pepper Clark?

Fifteen-year old Robie is staying with her Aunt Jillian in Hawaii. After she’s attacked, she decides to return to the Midway Atoll where she lives. She takes the supply plane, but it crashes at sea. The crash leaves Robie and Max, the co-pilot, to fend for their lives while lost at sea.
