What is the author's style in The Quiet Game by Greg Iles?

The language of the novel is relaxed and free-flowing, allowing the reader to easily understand the plot and not get immersed in lengthy descriptive passages. Though there is quite a bit of history in the novel, the author provides it in such a way as to not overwhelm the reader, interspersing explanations of past actions with dialogue to provide a better understanding of motivations.
