Symbol of Yew Tree

The yew tree at the cemetery is symbolic of time. After commemorating their men's deaths, the Aylward women stand under this tree, which Nana says is 2,000 years old. The tree therefore represents the passage of time and the confluence of multiple eras and generations at once.
