Michael is Lilly's older brother. He tutors Mia in Algebra during their gifted and talented class. Mia begins receiving messages from a secret admirer whom she hopes is Michael, but turns out to be her Biology partner. On the evening that Lilly is taping her television show and dares Mia to drop an eggplant from the window, it is Michael who takes precautions to see that she doesn't get caught. At the conclusion of the novel, it appears that Michael also has some feelings for Mia though he doesn't seem willing to admit to her that he likes her.
