Comment on structure

In the prologue of the novel, a third-person narrator describes the moments before Ben was attacked, and presumably killed, by someone who has broken into his apartment. This scene sets up the narration that will follow by each character involved in what has happened to Ben. The bulk of the novel is expository as each character describes his dealings with Ben.
