Does Sister St. Joseph want to return to France? Why or why not?

Sister St. Joseph does not plan to return to France. In part this is because she knows how difficult it would be to return home and see her family, particularly her mother, and have to leave again. She has a fondness for her homeland and her family, but she feels fulfilled with her work as a nun and is afraid that if she ever returned home she would not be able to leave again and return to her work.
