What is Onyx Obelisk?

The Onyx obelisk represents power. When Alabaster asks Essun to see if she can call an obelisk, he has a smaller and more responsive one prepped to come to her. Instead, it is the large, unwieldy onyx obelisk that comes to Essun’s call. This shows that her orogeny is more powerful than either of them realized.
