Comment on style and language

One of the most significant uses of language is the difference in tone, language, and meter of the blogs as compared to the rest of the novel. The blog installments are written in a tongue in cheek, almost sarcastic manner that contrasts with the more serious tone of the novel. For instance, the blog writer states that in line at the grocery store she noted some women “kept looking back at me, and for a horrified moment I thought they were going to invite me, too.
