Why does Allie force Mr. Struss to leave his village?

Mr. Struss is a missionary and Allie does not approve of anything religious. He forces the missionary to leave Jeronimo because he does not want the Zambus to be indoctrinated by him. He also seems very threatened by the missionary, who represents some of the reasons Allie left America in the first place.
