If you could change one thing about the main character, what would it be and why?

If I could change one thing about the main character it would be his inability to communicate his feelings. Yes, Dr, Warthrop is a cold man, but Will, in his own anguish, isn't capable of opening himself up to his new caregiver. Verbalizing his grief would give Will a different outlet for his sadness, and perhaps, it would help him find a kind of peace amidst the loss.
